It Is All About Head Leadership
Leadership has been increasingly taught in higher learning institutions, and talked about in social environment. But whenever leadership has been defined, conceptually or technically, studied and practiced, the essence of leadership and its teaching, especially for practice-oriented scholarship and practitioners, is head leadership, the very concept and principles originated and promoted at Orlando University.
What is Head Leadership? First, “Head,” as an adjective is defined as being chief or principal. It is defined also as a person in charge, the front, forward, or upper part of something. Second, “Leader” is about to lead or advance the lead. “Leadership,” finally, is the position or office of a leader, the capacity to lead, or the act or an instance of leading.
Thus, “Head Leadership” is about leading or advancing something and how to obtain, maintain and forward such lead or advances. Simply put, it mainly concerns how to always be ahead of the curve or others/peers. It basically speaks of three things: being in charge, using one’s brain, and looking ahead and forward.
